This was a brilliant idea! 5400 South is a major East/West route in Salt Lake County. The road needed to be widened. The problem is, utility poles are in the way. The solution: Just pave around them and put up some orange cones! Why would we want to bury the utility lines first? It creates more jobs if we pave first, dig up the pavement, bury the utility lines, and then repave. It creates twice as many jobs, and costs twice as much. It will help us spend our way out of debt! I'm glad the Utah Department of Transportation is looking out for us.
